An Ode to the Times

An Ode to the Times

And just like that it’s September. PSL all over the place, the scent of spices you never knew existed filling your nostrils with every public place you enter, everyone you know complaining about the impending doom that is the northeast winter. Just last weekend it was pina coladas, aloe vera after too much sun, and Kenny concerts at Gillette. Now it’s vests on vests on vests and your significant other complaining how even their favorite microbrew has a pumpkin beer with instructions on a sugar rim, and how they can’t stop drinking them.

Yes it sucks the summer is technically over. We all know that warm weather lasts at least 30 more days, and warm weather meaning shorts and tees most days of the weekend. Snow won’t be here for a few more months, and if it’s earlier then it’s that awesome kind of snow that magically doesn’t affect us in any negative way because it fell before December 31st.

Embrace the fall. Embrace all the ridiculous pumpkin spice latte flavored/scented things, even if it is your favorite pizza at your go to spot. Pumpkin beers are delicious, sugar rimmed Shipyards are literally the greatest thing ever created (add a vanilla vodka shot and see you later). Pumpkin ciders, especially Harpoon’s, are literally stupid good. Every fall new fall flavored things come out, which means every fall new amazing things come out to try.

And of course there’s football, football, and more football. Chesney clears the way for Brady and Co. to work their magic for the next 4-5 months. Then it’ll be Holiday Season before we know it, and that is another good thing to come.

Fight off the end of summer blues by competing with your fellow Landos at the 3rd Annual In House Throwdown Saturday, September 15th from around 10am-2pm, with a Block Party throwing down immediately after in the parking lot. The competition is All Levels, meaning anyone any ability can team up with any fellow member and compete and have fun.
