Challenge Winners

Last night I talked a lot about the amazing job so many of you Landos did in the Challenge the last 8 weeks. Something hopefully everyone can take away regardless of participation in the Challenge is you can make even your nutritional intake into a daily, goals based system. Water intake, supplements, obviously food, even sleep can become something different than part of your daily life as who you are and transition into simply things you need to be who you are. This gives us a chance every single day to hit goals and make ourselves proud of our existence. Think about how easy that is, and I think we will all accept that it isn’t easy at all. Why not take a few things and make it so?

Anyways, we have our top 3 finishers and really it wasn’t close. The Top 10 was good, really was a top 7, but the top 3 ran away with it. These ladies, yes all 3 ladies, all had 320 points or higher. When the most you could get over 56 days was 360, yeah that’s impressive. So without further or do, here are the top 3 finishers of the 2017 Fall Lifestyle and Nutrition Challenge. Be sure to give these ladies all a huge congratulations as they worked very hard to deserve it!

3rd Place : Tasha Coppetts, Charlestown

Every Challenge there is someone or a few people who the Challenge is a spring board to something much bigger, much greater in their timeline. Like our Golden Boy Dan O’Neill, who used the Challenge system for a year of goals for a better lifestyle that he is killing month by month, Tasha is onto something special with what she did over the past 8 weeks. Most amazingly she lost about 20# and just over 10% of her bodyweight from the start. In 8 weeks this is simply incredible. If you see Tasha around you can literally tell instantly, as she looks simply healthier, more athletic, and like she is nowhere close to stopping.

Tasha came in 2nd place overall with the daily points and first overall in weight loss. Both of these show discipline and poise, and probably would have been enough to win the whole show if…she maybe did all the tests and retests…? Perhaps the only thing we need to work on, or what we need to work on the most, for next time is scheduling/attention to detail.  Tasha even still allegedly doesn’t know what “Fran” is, both the test and re-test of it. It is because of this that I really couldn’t have her much higher than 3rd. However, she as far and away the biggest “loser” with the biggest weight loss, while also adding 10# to an already impressive back squat. Congratulations Tasha, we love you, and you will experience “Fran” soon enough!

2nd Place : Stacy Doyle, Woburn

Stacy is a long time Lando and a great example/story here with this go around for a fitness Challenge. A week or 2 ago she actually contacted me with disappointment about her overall performance in the Challenge, saying she hadn’t lost “enough” weight and therefore wasn’t satisfied with her performance. This is a perfect example of why these Challenges are great, or why working with someone on nutritional/lifestyle coaching is great because it leads to things you never intended. When Stacy contacted me about this I asked for food logs which now has us in an entirely new educational part of this that was never the intention at the start of the Challenge for any individual. In the meantime, Stacy realized (or I hope) that she did lose nearly 5% bodyweight which in 8 weeks is right along the average for such a profile while trying to maintain fitness.

And maintain she did! Stacy was our 3rd overall points getter for the daily program and had great advances in her fitness. She shaved almost 1 minute off her “Fran” and was just under her lifetime PR on the Back Squat even after going through a rest period that happened to land right smack in the middle of the challenge. She pushed through and still got a good measurement. All in all Stacy is another person who the Challenge will end up being just the start of what may come to be with her whole lifestyle and nutrition day to day life. I am excited for her as we all are. Congrats Stacy!

1st Place : Suzanne Rappaport, Woburn

It became apparent that Suzy wasn’t fu**ing around with the Challenge pretty early when I had emails at the end of week 1 detailing the extra fitness she did and asking if it counted for the daily allotment (it certainly did). From basically day 1 she lead the daily points and never looked back, having the most points wire to wire and the most perfect days with well over 30. Like the ladies above she had a very well rounded performance, leading the pack in daily points as mentioned, and coming in the top 3 in all the test/retest for the Back Squat, Conditioning WOD, and “Fran”. She truly put it all together as she lost nearly 5% of her starting bodyweight as well!

As our winner she gets, aside from her prizes, to tell is more about herself with a “Winner’s Profile” that will be similar aka identical to the “Outside the WOD” that the Member of the Month does for us. In fact, Suzanne is one of our Member’s of the Month for December thanks to her victory! So look forward to learning more about Suzy, her life outside the box, and without revealing anything myself I guarantee there are a few things that will come as incredibly interesting to learn once we get this out.

Tune in next week for more on Suzy and what lead her to being the Champion of the Fall Lifestyle and Nutrition Challenge! Please give her a great big congratulations when you see her!
