Jack Gets Strong This Saturday!


The J Man, my man Jack Martin, Coach Jack to you all, is competing in his first ever Strongman competition in Burlington for Strongman Incorporated’s Clash of the Titans. He has been training hard and cutting weight to get down to the right weight class, now he is ready to kick some ass and take some names!

Personally I am crushed I can’t be there. I have a special thing in my life that is a group of friends I have had since high school that has stayed not just in touch but close enough that we have/are all in each other’s weddings and one bachelor party is this weekend. It is probably the only thing I would miss Jack’s competition for. It is still a special day because as I check in periodically in between winning enough exactas to buy my own horse in Saratoga I know I won’t be able to help but reminisce about how this all started with Stacey, Jack, and myself.

I remember the day I thought me, Aaron Nobody, had a chance at hiring a 2x Games Athlete away from her cushy job to start a gym and work FOR me. I remember shortly after getting a FB message from this name Jack Martin I remembered from the competitor website I posted while still at CrossFit Southie, asking to come workout. I truly feel like a parent sometimes when I look at 22 year old Jack who I have shared many special events with in his coming of age as an adult and all I can remember is this scrawny ass 17 year old moseying into the gym looking like he was about to cry from nerves.
