Open WOD 18.3 Goes Down In Woburn @ 9:45am.
Unfortunately for Charlestown people, and I mean that wholeheartedly, we are going in Woburn for 18.3 once again. This is due to the need for the dumbbells and us having 25 of them in Woburn already. I truly am going to do my best to get 18.4 and 18.5 in Charlestown out of fairness.
SWEAT class is 9-9:40am, bring your sweating because it’s going to get INTENSE
2nd Annual LandOpen In House BloodBath
Week 1 was a tragedy on all counts for TEAM LANDO. We got beat by almost literally 100 points out of a possible 120. However, Week 2 was a completely different story…for part of it.
The Score: Team Stacey, 1…Team Lando, 2…if we were counting losses. Team Lando won 18.2 but got obliterated again on 18.2a. So we are a bit hot and cold. No fear!!! We have 3 more workouts (who knows maybe more if Castro throws out more “a” and “b” WODs.
Gambling For Charity : Lando v. J-Man as part of the 18.5 End of Open Festivities.
The last week of the Open is a great time as it is the finale of a hard fought 5 weeks for everyone involved and we have historically taken it as a chance to unwind. Last year we were at Lord Hobo Brewery in Woburn and I am pleased to re-announce that we will be returning to Lord Hobo after 18.5.
I am equally pleased to announce that we have a Charity Gambling Situation, The First Annual. As you may know Jack recently was anointed the Strongest Man in Arnold Land after winning the amateur Strongman Championship at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, OH. Honestly this is a major huge deal and we are so proud of Jack. This might mean he is strong as bull, but it doesn’t mean he is fit as shit. Or does it? What most of you probably don’t “know” but “know” from being around me, my training is how can I say it “NOT GOOD” with all my coaching of the competitor athletes aka excuses I make.
So what are we going to do?
A walk-off. It’s a walk-off.
That’s right. J-Man v. Lando. 18.5. Bring your popcorn, maybe your own popcorn maker because it’s going to take a while. But we will see who is the most Cross-Fit even when not training CrossFit between myself and Jack, two athletes at or formerly of an elite status on opposite ends of the growth spectrum. Hopefully someone will carry me to Lord Hobo after.
We will be releasing handicapped betting lines like the Super Bowl with prop bets and all the Monday before with all proceeds/winnings going to a charity we will announce soon.
