Saturday: Wedding Day

These two love birds are getting married today. They happen to be my brother and soon to be sister in law. Ryan and Cara. I wish I could tell you more about them but it would kind of ruin the best man speech I’m going to be giving later in the day if they read this.

I’ll tell you one thing, if this wedding isn’t the definition of perseverance but also a shining example of appreciating what a wedding/marriage is about, I don’t know what is. They went from 250+ people at the Four Seasons in Boston to a pandemic limit of 50 people including anyone working the wedding. So they had to send out un-invites to many, many friends and family, had to change venues multiple times to eventually land on our family home in the Cape, and have had every other wrench possible thrown at them on top of all the issues facing hosting an event during, ya know, a worldwide pandemic. Yet they have never wavered, never lost focus of just wanting to have something special that was about each other and the special people in their lives. I feel beyond privileged to be such a part of it and it’s been incredible to see their positive attitudes through the whole thing.

Now when you are all reading this I would have had been through a beach day bachelor party Thursday, rehearsal/rehearsal dinner night on Friday, and I’m old, so hopefully I’m alive to see you all next week.

Congratulations to my little brother and future little sister in law Ryan and Cara!
